With an undergraduate degree in biology from St. Edward’s University and research experience, Michelle is pursuing a career in ecology. She is interested in environmental justice focused conservation. As a local, she has seen the flood zone expand over the past 30 years. With extreme weather events becoming more frequent, it is more important than ever to raise awareness about the important role our wetlands play in flood mitigation. She looks forward to empowering community members as watershed stewards. In her free time, she fosters kittens for the city animal shelter and reads new public health studies.
