Are you a community leader advocating flood solutions, with an interest in green infrastructure?

Bayou City Waterkeeper is launching a Green Stormwater Design Lab (GSDL) in Kashmere Gardens that integrates community mapping and design, workshops, and policy and planning education on green infrastructure, a missing component of flood mitigation in Kashmere Gardens. This work builds on community interest and actions in nature-based solutions in SN52.

The GSDL will provide resources, training, and networking so that community members can deepen their understanding of water and green infrastructure and lead community-driven processes that address equity, ecology, health, and culture. We will explore ways in which community members and technical experts can build a common language, exchange knowledge and wisdom, and work collaboratively on community-led projects that support living with water, environmental stewardship, and climate adaptation.

Utilizing a cohort model consisting of 10 to 15  members, we will meet for six weeks, with 15 – 20 hours of learning modules and discussions, field trips, and community demonstration projects.
