Are you a community leader advocating flood solutions, with an interest in green infrastructure?

Bayou City Waterkeeper is launching a Green Infrastructure Design Lab in Kashmere Gardens that integrates community mapping and design, workshops, and policy and planning education on green infrastructure, a missing component of flood mitigation in Kashmere Gardens. This work builds on community interest and actions in nature-based solutions in SN52.

The Design Lab will provide resources, training, and networking so that community members can deepen their understanding of water and green infrastructure and lead community-driven processes that address equity, ecology, health, and culture. We will explore ways in which community members and technical experts can build a common language, exchange knowledge and wisdom, and work collaboratively on community-led projects that support living with water, environmental stewardship, and climate adaptation.

Utilizing a cohort model consisting of 10 to 15  members, we will meet for six weeks, with 15 – 20 hours of learning modules and discussions, field trips, and community demonstration projects.

Applications are closed for our first cohort. If you are interested in learning more about this project, please reach out to info@bayoucitywaterkeeper.org
